ME 310 Design for Additive Manufacturing
In this course, the state of the art in the field of additive manufacturing (AM), commonly known as 3D printing, will be introduced to the students, with a special emphasis on designing for AM (DfAM). Specifically, two domains of DfAM will be introduced: (1) opportunistic DfAM: i.e., design techniques that help designers leverage the offerings of AM, and (2) restrictive DfAM: i.e., design techniques that help designers accommodate AM limitations to ensure successful builds.
