PHIL 374 Ethics and Intuitions

This course examines the use of intuitions in moral philosophy. It assesses the merits and demerits of the practice by first surveying the history of the practice. The course then turns to influential criticisms of the reliability of moral intuitions that draw greatly from work in social science. It concludes by investigating some recent attempts to respond to these criticisms.
