INDS 217 Globalization and Its Critics: German Case Study
Using Germany as a central case study and example across each week’s readings, this course introduces students to the basic scholarly literature on the origins, developments, variants, and power dynamics of modern globalization. It covers the arguments of main proponents and critics of globalization from a historical, political, social, economic, environmental, and national perspective. The course exposes students to readings and arguments that represent the long-lasting political, religious, economic, and social transnational flows and interconnectedness that characterize contemporary globalization.
