FAMS 221 Media Theory
This course is an introduction to canonical debates and contemporary frameworks in media theory, including semiotics, psychoanalysis, historical materialism, phenomenology, feminism, queer theory, critical race theory, the anthropocene, and eco-media. Students will analyze a range of media examples using these tools and concepts.
Prerequisite
FAMS 101, or permission of the instructor.
