FAMS 220 Film Theory
This course is an introduction to film theory as a mode of inquiry. We will study some of the key debates and concepts in film theory, including ontology, semiotics, materialism, psychoanalytic criticism, feminist and queer theory, and phenomenology. We will also consider films, in their own right, as theoretical experiments in thought and perception.
