WGS 235 Gender and the Economy

Across the globe, we observe different economic outcomes across gender that are both significant and persistent. This course takes an interdisciplinary perspective to study decisions that individuals make regarding marriage, children, education and employment. As part of our examination of these choices and their consequences for economic well being, we will make comparisons of gender-related outcomes over time and across race and ethnic groups, and learn about government policies that have differential effects across gender.
