ME 387 Numerical Methods for Engineers
This course introduces theory of numerical methods applicable to engineering systems such as robotics, structures, thermal-fluids, and bioengineering, that involve solving systems of linear, nonlinear, ordinary or partial differential equations. Through application, students will learn the fundamental concepts underlying methods such as finite difference, finite volume, finite element, or off-lattice. Students will develop the ability to conduct method configuration, code development, test case setup, and result evaluation. Assignments require MATLAB programming.
