AFS 405 Advanced Seminar in Africana Studies

The purpose of this course experience is for students to use critical thinking and careful writing to develop an in-depth discussion of an Africana topic that they are passionate about, using core readings assigned for the class. Each student will develop a 15-20 page paper in which they ‘do a deep dive’ into a selected Africana topic. Students will choose their topic and supplemental readings after discussion with the instructor.
