ECON 338 Economics of Sports

The economics of sports is the study of how economic theories and principles apply to the sports industry. The field lends itself to empirical testing given the abundant data available from professional and collegiate sports teams. Sports analysis examines topics such as market structure, antitrust issues, labor markets, managerial decision-making, and informational efficiency.
