In our own time and in a new era of Russian aggression, this seminar immerses students in the world of Russian culture, history, and politics through critical analysis of its internationally acclaimed fiction and cinema. How has the Putin era challenged, reshaped, and coopted what for some is Russia’s most important export: its culture?
