GOVT 341 Democracy in Digital Times
This course explores the political possibilities, challenges, and dangers associated with an increasingly digital world – with particular attention to how the internet is transforming the practice of democracy. Some core questions will be: how are digital media technologies changing politics, communication, and information? Are they necessarily democratic, or do they enable new forms of power and control? And what forms of political agency do they render possible?
