PSYC 245 Sensation & Perception

Sensation & Perception examines human sensory and perceptual systems in detail. The course will introduce you to: (1) the historical foundations and philosophical significance of the study of sensation and perception; (2) contemporary research methods in sensation and perception; (3) the types of physical stimuli sensed by humans and the physiology of sensory systems; (4) the role of perception in neuroscience and psychology, especially with respect to the organization and assimilation of information from the senses; and (5) practical applications of knowledge about human sensation and perception.
