SPAN 347 Afro-descendent Writers in the Hispanic Caribbean
An in-depth study of literary themes, genres, authors, and/or movement in the cultural context of the Africana Diaspora in the Hispanic Caribbean from the late 18th century to the present day. Topics will include a focus on Afro-descendant writers and will analyze theater, novels, autobiography, and poetry.
Prerequisite
At least 2 courses must be from Foundations in Hispanophone Studies (SPAN 300-339) to advance to Focused Themes of Inquiry of the Hispanophone World (SPAN 340-380), or approval of instructor
