Requirements
The major consists of a minimum of 9 courses:

| Advanced Language Competency | |
| | Seven approved electives | |
- Advanced Language Competency - Spanish or French at or above SPAN 212, SPAN 215, or FREN 212.
- Two of the seven electives must be at the 300-level or higher. Electives should be chosen to ensure courses are taken in 3 or more programs/departments. Electives must have at least 50% content related to Latin America, the Caribbean, or their diasporas and be in alignment with the program's mission and values.
