Latin American and Caribbean Studies, A.B. Major

 

Requirements

The major consists of a minimum of 9 courses:

LACS 101	Introduction to Latin American & Caribbean Studies	1
LACS 201	Perspectives and Debates in Latin American & Caribbean Studies	1
	Advanced Language Competency
	Seven approved electives

• Advanced Language Competency - Spanish or French at or above SPAN 212, SPAN 215, or FREN 212.
• Two of the seven electives must be at the 300-level or higher. Electives should be chosen to ensure courses are taken in 3 or more programs/departments. Electives must have at least 50% content related to Latin America, the Caribbean, or their diasporas and be in alignment with the program's mission and values.
