EGRS 201 Introduction to Engineering, Technology, and Society
This course is an introduction to Engineering Studies. It addresses the concepts and analytical techniques of the major to provide students with a foundation from which other EGRS courses build. Topics include socio-technical systems, the ways cultural values, economic systems, public policy principles, environmental considerations, and technical metrics shape technologies, technological determinism and its problems, and interdisciplinary thinking about engineering.
