PHYS 209 Observational Astronomy

A study of the methods used for making astronomical observations and analyzing astronomical data. Includes some basic computer programming. Students learn to plan observations, operate small telescopes, use attached cameras to observe stars and other celestial objects, and then process and analyze that data. The course culminates in an independent observing and/or data analysis project. Students who have earned credit for PHYS 304 may not earn credit for this class.
