Readings such as Gulliver's Travels and A Modest Proposal by Swift, Pope's The Rape of the Lock, Gay's Beggar's Opera, various burlesques and farces, Hogarth's satiric engravings, and portions of Byron's Don Juan. Prerequisite

ENG 205 and a literary history course (ENG 206, ENG 210, ENG 211, ENG 212, or ENG 213), or permission of the instructor.
