REL 227 Religion and the Environment

This course examines the interactions and intersections of major world religions and environmental concerns. Students will explore how faith traditions have articulated the relationship between humanity, the divine, and nature and how these visions in turn have affected religious responses to issues such as human stewardship over the earth, ethics and the eco-system, animal rights, evolution and biodiversity, and contemporary environmental crises.
