ART 245 Contemporary Art

An international examination of global contemporary art, locating its origins in the social upheaval and shifting artistic practices post-World War II. The course explores the emergence of multimedia, performance, video, installation art, site-specific practices, and contemporary photography. Specifically, it considers how contemporary artists engage critically with the legacy of modernism and global shifts in socio-political and cultural contexts.
