BIOL 355 Molecular Basis of Genetic Disorders
This course will explore genetic disorders through the lens of the central dogma of molecular biology. We will focus on monogenic disorders and examine disease-causing mutations at the DNA, RNA, protein, cell, tissue, and organismal level. Students will read, discuss, and present primary literature. In addition, each student will investigate a genetic disorder and compose a research paper. This course is intended for upper-division students with a working knowledge of genetics and heredity.
